Designing data-driven computer systems for cybersecurity, user privacy, and intelligent automation in IoT and CPS.
The Cyber-Physical Systems Laboratory (CPSLab) at Marquette University is directed by Dr. Keyang Yu. Our mission is to advance the design of data-driven computer systems with an emphasis on improving cybersecurity and user privacy across Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Our work spans multiple technical fields including Embedded Systems, Computer Networks, AI@Edge, Tiny Machine Learning, and Distributed Computing. We tackle real-world privacy and security challenges in smart homes, smart buildings, and renewable energy systems.
Our research sits at the intersection of systems, security, and machine learning.
Smart homes, smart buildings, renewable energy systems, and IoT device ecosystems — designing secure and efficient CPS architectures.
Preventing user privacy leakage through network traffic analysis, traffic fingerprinting defense, and privacy-preserving data analytics.
Tiny Machine Learning (TinyML), AI@Edge computing, federated learning, and intelligent automation for resource-constrained devices.
Operating systems, embedded system design, distributed computing architectures, and edge-cloud orchestration.
